The Bolt

As was expected the finish of the bolt, whilst ok was not very special.  The back of the bolt came off after removing the slotted grub screw and unscrewing the rear of the bolt. When I reassemble the bolt I think I'll replace the original grub screw with a nice stainless socket head one.

The top of the bolt body is reasonably well polished but the underside is still pretty rough... however the firing pin looks even worse!

Here are the bolt and firing pin after some initial polishing. I will be not only polishing the body of these but doing some fine stoning/polishing of the firing pin lug where it engages the sear in the trigger group.

Using finer and finer stones (actually my old Lansky knife sharpening kit stones) and then fine wet and dry I put a nice smooth finish on all the different contact surfaces on the firing pin. I also polished up the rear bolt cap.
