The Trigger Group

I think part of any rifle upgrade/project work is the trigger group.

While the finish on this one leaves a lot to be desired it does come as a four-way adjustable trigger which I didn't realise until I looked in the manual.

After disassembling the trigger group (which is pretty straight forward) I set to polishing up the contact surfaces of the trigger and sear etc. I wanted to smooth the trigger shoe as it was particularly rough. I took to it with stones and wet and dry after which I used the sand blaster at work to remove all the remaining blue and give it a nice "matt" finish.

I used a lansky knife sharpening kit with its graded flat stones then a flat piece of alloy with progressively finer grades of wet and dry finishing at 1500 grit. After this I finished the process on a small bench-mounted buffer with buffing compound.
